Kevin Ryan was born and raised an Irish Catholic within the New York City limits. After spending twelve years in Catholic school, he worked odd jobs before finally landing a position in the Narcotics Division. After a stint with them, he turned over to the 12th Precinct working as a Homicide Detective. He's been there ever since.

Physically, he can keep pace with most bad guys and ruffians. He's witty, intelligent, and will go pretty far to get lawbreakers behind bars. Although he's worked an undercover stint before, he doesn't anymore.
